I can completely understand the mixture of feelings. My thoughts are with you. I too am in school and take care of my daughter with cancer. It's tough but actually school is what keeps me going alot of times.
I'm sorry I don't have any good organizational skills but I actually find I get alot more done at the hospital then at home. I'm still trying to balance everything too. :)
If you don't already have one, get a nice good daytimer with lots of space to write everything into it.
When it's too much for you, ask a good friend or family member to come help with the labour - laundry and cooking etc. for an hour or so. After all - they asked if there was anything they could do to help right? At least some of them really meant it, and are waiting to help out if they are asked.
Plan ahead, but you can only deal with one day at a time and one thing at a time. So just take it step by step and try not to get overwhelmed. But when you do, call up those friends/family.
Sorry I missed this post last week. The thing that helped me most was having a cingular plan that allowed me to get online anywhere with my laptop. I could communicate with people more easily at the hospital (ie via IM) and get a lot done at the hospital. Also, I found that Heather (my partner) actually preferred me being busy when I was with her during chemo than just--as she said--"sitting there, staring at me." If she needed to talk, she would ask to talk, otherwise I would be a silent, busy companion. It worked for us anyway.
Best of luck, would love to know how you're doing!
