Yes, please change the layout if at all possible! I know I do not have a paid account (nor do I plan to have one) for the character I play here and the new system is non-functional AND ugly, and I would much rather have a still-kind-of-ugly but working template for comm posts.
Also, I move where the game moves, but I am creating journals on DW just in case people decide to move there. ♥
While there are some niceties to the new layout there are more annoyances. If the game moves I can easily not only relocate but also offer invites (as I have several inactive accounts accruing codes).
I have Zinc set up on DW, and a whole bunch of others, so I could likewise offer codes if people miss the open creation timeslot. I don't think it's a horrible idea to wait and see what LJ actually does though, and then having a specific poll on the issue.
I haven't made a journal for Kyoko elsewhere yet, but I have fem!Austria journals set up on both DW and IJ and am willing to move or stay depending on what the game does.
I'd welcome a layout change for the QoH comms! While I can access LJ just fine despite the current hideous clunkiness, I can only imagine the hell it must be for other users.
As for the second issue, I have all my RP journals set up at DW! I'll stay with the game if it moves there, and I'll stay if it remains on LJ. Regardless, I agree that it's not a bad idea to wait and see what LJ does first.
I'm also willing to offer invite codes, once they start getting distributed.
