(Bringing Marceline in from here! Hope no one minds!)

Saying "Small world" would be terribly cliché wouldn't it? Well, especially so when used about The Garden. It seems large, but only because of the freaky weird circumstances of arrival. Twice Marceline has seem Subaru's face and heard her voice, thanks to her help that night and the talking head in a box. Not knowing how to use the vine, other than having it perv on her, she wasn't able to say that she was coming. Oh well, here she is having followed the scents and lights. Walking up to the inn she called out, "Hey! Uh, anyone here?"

"I know, you totes are the type to be all for honest and for true!" Fionna was a good one, through and through! She didn't seem like her being a hero made her easy to prank or lead astray, which was totally unlike another adventurer that Mary knew. Maybe they could be not shy together? Yeah, that'd be nice. "Heroes are always honest and true!" Fionna declared proudly, although she really would have felt more like a hero if she had her sword already. She definitely wanted to meet Finn for herself one day, and would have been surprised to learn how different they were. Then again, Finn was younger and had Jake, so it would make sense that the two of them would be different anyhows. They were both still adventurers anyway. "You guys are! I hope you totally get to meet Marshall Lee one day!"

She refrained from blushing again and punched her in the arm, smiling. "That's pretty math, but I think I'll be able to win 'em over somhow. I've already met some really kick butt people anyway. And you know, you're right: she totes said I would never be a lady, and who has time for that, doing the stuff I do? Some lazy, do nothing girl that aren't me, that's for sure! Who has time for that lady biz?"

Fionna laughed. "Yeah man, I know. But PB totally likes you anyway!"

If Marcy had anything to do with it, and you know that she is a busy body enough to stick her nose right in, Fionna would stay feeling like a hero! "We totes can, man! Actually, there was something that I wanted your help with and all. Even though Cake's not here, I want to make the Tree Fort again, from the magic dirt and stuff. With no Cake, the only person that I'd trust to create it with me is Marshall, since it used to be his, so that means you! Will you help me?"

She giggled, taking the hit between the eyes. "I will now dude: I think I was just worrying about the wrong kinda stuff again, just like that time with the Ice Queen messing with my head, with the dress and all. No more suck butts for me!"

Fionna nodded. "Yeah man, that is totes not my deal. I like to be nice and all to anyone I meet. They're gonna have all these diff ways of thinking and being anyway, and so long as they're not hurting anyone, what's so wrong?"

She thought a moment. "I dunno. He didn't like me, not until that very last time, and then I didn't want to date any dude anymore. I did like him for a bit though. Still, maybe like PB and you, he really liked Marshall Lee that way or some biz."

"And we will," Marceline pretended that she had to give the proposition some thought. The truth was, she had already made up her mind about helping Fionna get whatever she needed to. "Heck yes!" Fionna said, grinning. If only Marceline knew that Fionna definitely did not see Marceline as second fiddle anything. They were similar, yes, but they were both really awesome in their own ways, and when it acme to Marceline, she was all the awesomeness of a vampire as a human, and she totes had her own way of thinking and everything. Okay, that was weird. So Marshall had kicked Fionna out of the Tree Fort before? Marceline would be raging on about it. Well, if not for the fact that it would be super hypochritical and junk! Yeah, this Marshall was more than just sounding like her. He was doing things that she had done! Her only hope was that said things weren't for the same jacked up reasons! "The tree fort would be totally large enough for all of us," her guilt came though in her tone, "I've been there and done that." As much as she had argued with herself on it, she couldn't lie or keep a secret from Fionna. "It was unfair when I did it the first time. It'd be totally messed up if I did it again." She meant when she did it to Finn and Jake! Not that she was Marshall Lee some how!

Oh man,this was something she didn't mind but would have to get used to. Finn was always careful about joshing her, something about chivalry. Jake, well, Jake wouldn't because he was still scared of her. Actually she kind of liked being teased, especially by Fionna. "Hey now!" She laughed, "I could ask the same thing about you and PB!"

Thankfully the fight earlier had taken all of the fight out of the Vampire Queen. She was all laughs and smiles, for now. "You've got it! When you like someone that much you can't really help it." Fionna laughed. "No way man! Princess Bubblegum is a gal pal, I just met her! You can't just go and fall for some person you gt to know recently, even if they remind you of someone you know! Besides, you would probably bite my neck or some biz if I tried!"

She nodded. "Liking takes a lot of energy dude. It's like...when you're fighting, you have to win, right? You could get totally killed if you're not paying attention, and you get all beat up and stuff, but you're used to it. When you get all involved and stuff, liking someone, it hurts in your mind and heart and junk. It just feels wrong."

Fionna nodded. "I hated her man. It was so messed up. Why do that to someone who was just your enemy? That's totally going too far."

She was quiet here. "No man. She was just messing with me, to win. It wasn't fair. Doing that stuff was just...mean."

Blame old pre-war novels and the mushy movie played during date night, but deep down she had a feeling that it was at least possible. "I don't bite my homies!" Weak line of protest, sure. Fionna sighed. "I didn't know that junk man. Cake tries to protect me and stuff, but even she was fooled by the Ice Queen with that. I didn't know it was going to happen, but I was able to deal with it when it came, you know? I had to realize that I had to be an adventurer, and not go and be all sad and stuff."

She shrugged. Was it a human thing, to have to deal with that stuff? To have to keep all that junk in perspective?

"I know, I understand. It's why its ok to not be with anyone, you know? I can just be me, with friends, doing my own biz."

Fionna nodded. "Dude, I'm not happy, but I'm fine. YOU'RE the one that's got the actual junk going
on!"

"That's if you can reach my buns, Dude!" She's been way too busy laughing since her arrival to even think about fighting Fionna, playfully or not. If it were Finn, you bet she'd kick him around for fun! "Man, this Marshal Lee guy is totally stealing from me!" She winked, playing it totes casual!

"Being sad happens when you're hurt, Fi." She said through a sigh, not wanting to be too heavy handed. "Cake is awesome for trying to protect you and all, but we can't all be right. Even great heroes like Billy, "Or would it be Billy Jean where she is from? "-get sad or have their doubts. Just like Billy you dealt with it, but doesn't mean you're done with it."

Fionna would be lucky and unlucky if it were just a human thing, her usually being the only human. All things with feelings and aspirations have these troubles.

"Not saying that it's messed up to be alone. Sometimes it works out better, other times not so much." The pause she sat in had a very If you get what I mean vibe to it ( ... )
