"Hey hey, Subaru!" Katina arrives a little earlier than some, and is almost immediately sniffing at the air, following her nose like a freaky cartoon bird.

Subaru peeks her head out from a side room and smiles big when she sees the blond. "Katina, hi! Glad you made it." Not that she had any doubt, but even so. She stepped out in her yukata and walked over to greet her friend.

"Of course I did. Couldn't miss something like this!" She takes note of Subaru's yukata; her own clothing was pretty casual. "Good to see ya!"

"Likewise," she replied, stopping in front of her. "I didn't ask yesterday, but how've you been?"

"Not too bad. I've been finding things to occupy my time, so it's not as bad as it could be." Katina grinned, looking around the place. No sign of Akiha yet... that's good.

"That's good. Are you all done building your giant robot?" Since she hasn't been by to look at it since it was done. Thinking about that conversation was still a little weird for her, so she been unconsciously avoiding it.

"Oh, yeah. It looks great, even if I can't do anything useful with it." She almost sounds... sad about that. If only it worked, she could actually DO something.

And Subaru can't relate to that. Not only is she fully equipped and functional, but she also has to admit to herself that she doesn't want to have any reason for a giant war machine like that to be up and running (as cool as that would look).

She pats her friend on the shoulder. "I bet the view from the top is really nice!"

"Heh, yeah. I can see just about everything from up there." Aw, you're a good friend Subaru, even if you'd probably disagree wildly on how to handle a war.

"I'll have to check it out, sometime." Ignore the fact that she can just skate on up to as high as they can go in this place, it was the thought that counted. "...ahah, another plan for another day, huh?" They seem to make a few of those.

"It's good to keep busy when you're dealing with something like this. Keeps you from getting too introspective about what's wrong." Katina may or may not be intentionally making herself busy for that reason, at any given time, but it's definitely why she likes to get everyone else here involved.

"Not to mention we'd just get bored and rusty!" Which is just as big of a part of keeping busy as anything else.

"Can't have the soldiers, of all people, getting rusty, right?"

"Mm! Though I think to think of us more as 'protectors'." That is an important distinction for her to make.

Katina nods. "A little idealistic for me, but it definitely fits you." Subaru's job is rescue, unlike Katina's front-line combat role.

Or so she's said. "Nothing wrong with that." She motions over to the side. "Are you hungry? We have most everything set up, faster than I expected, since I had so much help with the cooking!"
