Not only science is happening in the little cottage. Kuja, with subtle spells and touches, is helping it along with magic. Just a little. It's not her work, not really. She's only providing her input. These are Vitalia's creations, truly. She'd never want to take any credit for them.

Any resemblance to plants from her world is purely coincidental. Not that there's anyone from her world present. If there were, they would surely have a lot to say about what Kuja is truly like.

She smiles at Vitalia's laughter, the very picture of the fond mentor as she looks over the fruit of Vitalia's labors carefully and thoughtfully. "Oh yes, very much like. They're beautiful, my dear. You work so quickly, so efficiently. Why, others would have taken months to come up with such fine specimens."

Her smile is threatening to split her head in two. "I'm sure without your inspiration, it should never have occurred to me! Why, it's simply genius: the solution to all of the mobility problems that deviled my projects for so long!"

And the laughter bursts forth again, unhinged as always.

She wipes an eye, calming herself. "I suppose I shall have to feed them myself, at first? Until they grow strong enough to move about under their own power and acquire their own nutrients."

"Ah, but a bit of influence is very little compared to all your thought and toil. I wouldn't dream of taking any responsibility." She means that. It's best, in situations like this, to remain behind the scenes.

Kuja laughs as well. There's an odd similarity between her laughter and Vitalia's. Their voices aren't much alike otherwise, so it's probably the "unhinged" element that's to blame.

She reaches out a hand to stroke the nearest creature. Precious, dangerous things. Perhaps they'll be able to create some of the chaos she desires to engender, to spite the Queen. She won't acquiesce to being under another's thumb, another's rule. She never has. Revolt is always possible, for the clever and the strong. "Yes, they require a little more time to mature, but nursing them to that point will be no trouble for you. You've proved your resourcefulness."

"Oh, my, you do flatter me so! I shall look forward to seeing their growth!"

Oh, Kuja, you are so like her father. Only, y'know, prettier. And with floofier hair. And a tail. And superpowers.

"Yes, I'm sure I can collect enough for them on my daily excursions. Shall I keep you apprised of their progress?"
