[Sephiroth is not Reeve's bodyguard, but she looks like it as they enter, sweeping in silently behind her, then shadowing her, armed with her conspicuous katana. She is wearing a suit again, in honor of the occasion, but her manner is so solemn that she might as well be attending a funeral instead of a party. She came at Reeve's request. She does not particularly enjoy parties, but they are a good opportunity to observe others. She feels less inclined to indulge in small talk than usual after having spent a few days as a far more talkative child, a side effect of the Gardens' magic that yet rankles.

The drinks do not interest her. Alcohol has no effect on her. She studies her fellow attendees while keeping track of Reeve's movements.]

[Gabrielle has other guests, of course, and after a little while Reeve leaves off monopolizing the woman (for now) and makes her way over to Sephiroth. She knows the SOLDIER might not feel like talking (there's taciturn and then there's taciturn), but that she doesn't seem to mind when Reeve does it. Reeve smiles up at her bodyguard and friend. There are beautiful women here, but then, somehow defying any attempt at description or categorization, there is Sephiroth.]

Having fun? No, don't answer that. But it is nice to see you in that suit again. [Reeve chuckles.] I'm glad you came along-- it's not so bad, is it?

[Sephiroth senses Reeve's approach, turning toward her before she arrives, with a polite nod.]

I did not think it would be "bad", although "fun" would certainly be an overstatement. [Her tone as she says this is far more dry than disagreeable.]

I do not mind it here. It is pleasant enough. It is more like the Shinra gatherings back home than the dance was, though with a less formal air, of course. [She does not mind being less of a center of attention than she is back home, though she does miss the companions who usually accompany her to such functions.]

[Reeve smiles, amused as ever at Sephiroth's dry humor.]
Well, I am glad you don't mind it here-- you're right it is a bit like a Shinra do. Though I'm having more fun here, honestly. [Reeve's expression is wry.] I don't get along with the other executives very well, as a rule-- having to socialize with that bunch at a party isn't my idea of a good time!

[ Despite not being particularly sociable nor really knowing anything about the apartments or planning to move there, Liechtenstein said she would come, and she didn't change her mind. And it could have been an opportunity to get to know everyone; they were all here in this together, after all. Not wanting to stand out, the dress she chose for the occasion was a simple, song-sleeved blue one and I would provide pictures if I had any. She had to admit that she felt a little out of place, though... but that was nothing new to her, with such a young appearance.

Not wanting to intrude, she enters a bit shyly but politely, hands clasped in her lap. And the first thing she does is make way towards where the food is, where she can observe everyone else and join in- and of course, being underage, she is going to avoid the drinks. It was also a bit strange, come to think of it, not to be hiding behind her brother or staying close to him... during these kinds of events he always made sure she did, as he always went with her. ]

Oh! Hello Liechtenstein! [Zenobia approaches, holding a glass of wine.] I was hoping I could meet you in person. You look lovely.

[ She smiles. It's nice to meet in person, and the compliment gives her more confidence in herself. She responds with a polite, elegant and slightly old-fashioned curtsey. ] Thank you very much, Miss Zenobia. That dress suits you as well.

Oh, I'm glad you think so. I generally don't wear dresses like this, so I wasn't sure how well I look, but hearing that makes me feel better.

This party was such a great idea! I want to get to know everyone better. Including you.

Claire is here accompanying tasercopter noneedforheroic, her hair braided and a shawl draped over her dress. Parties back home were more casual affairs, with lots of singing and dancing to drive off the gloom of a long winter. She feels a little out of place at first, but her social nature helps her adjust quickly.

She greets people warmly and samples the food, not minding any looks or questions concerning her appearance. She's used to them by now.

[Zenobia sees an unfamiliar face, and remembers her quest to meet everyone in the garden ever. She approaches.] Oh, hello! I don't believe I've met you before. My name is Zenobia.

[she smiles openly, glancing at the wing with curiosity, but nothing more than that.]

Pleased to meet you, I'm Claire Bennett. That's a lovely name, Zenobia.

Oh, thank you, Claire. [Zenobia smiles. She notes Claire's own unusual features, which she glances at with a look of fascination in her eyes.]

I hope you don't mind my saying so, but you're really beautiful. You have an ethereal and elegant charm.

( Did you say fashionably late? No?

Well, that's around the time she turns up, anyway, with a distinctly happy bounce in her step. Anything especially good happen today? Strong cup of coffee? Nope. This is just how she rolls, ladies, and this is probably a mission taken up after spending some hours drinking wine and reading romantic novels in the library.

Sighting the wine, a grin catches her lips, and she sidles on over. The fact she'd already had a couple (or a couple more than that) of glasses didn't do much to stop her; it wasn't that much considering the hours she'd been there, after all.

Hmm-- but maybe she should have champagne? It just might taste funny after all that red.

Decisions.

Important, important decisions. )

[Zenobia is pouring herself some more wine when she notices a face she hasn't seen before.] Oh, hello there! My name's Zenobia and I'm always looking for people I haven't seen in the garden yet. It's nice to meet you.

[While Jules may be a little (a lot) more exuberant, Gabrielle certainly enjoys her presence when she steps into a room. It's hard to always be that optimistic, but she's very glad to see the other woman is attending.]

[Gracefully making her way to her, champagne glass in hand, she greets Jules. Noticing her eyeing the champagne.] I'm glad that you could make it! You're more than welcome to have as much champagne as you'd like. There's plenty more where that came from.
