This time, Gabrielle is in the kitchen, sifting through the cabinets, as the vine slithers up to her. At first, she does not acknowledge it in favor of keeping herself occupied with the contents of said cabinet

They were.

[She gently shakes her head.]

They couldn't. There is no telling when someone could leave, but you can never really prepare for these kinds of things.

It's better to move on with life than dwell on the past, really. I certainly had some good times with them, I know they think the same.

[She gently laughs. It is natural for her that people come and go―Rebecca, Aya, Cray, Kyle, and now Jules and Emilia―it's something she's used to by now.]

You can't expect everyone to stay here. Being brought here against our own will, I am sure most of us would take the opportunity to leave whenever it arrises.

You're right, but we can't help feeling sad, either, when someone leaves. Even if we know they're happier where they went.

Mn, that's true. Even if it is expected here, it's still not the easiest thing to adjust to.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to stay in the furnished room you mentioned. I don't have very much money saved up, but I'm sure I should be able to meet rent fees, at least monthly ones.

[She gives a nod, glad to hear that Mami is suggesting her apartments. As she crosses her arms, her lips curl into an amused smile.]

How about I give you the room for free?

For free? Really, you would do that for me? [She positively lights up at the offer. She doesn't have any of her possessions, but a home is a home.] Thank you very much!

Then I can at least help tidy up or cook meals, if you'd like anything in return. Is there a time I can come over to move in?

Money isn't really required here in the first place, anyway. Maintenance isn't that hard when I have the birds to help me, a room is easy to furnish when you can use the magic dirt to make everything, there's no real need to have people pay rent when they can live perfectly fine without it.

You're welcome to move in any time you'd like. The building isn't that hard to find―I'm sure you'll notice when you see it, but if you need directions I can come meet you somewhere.
