Fifth Leap [Action] | Backdated to August 5th

[It is quite a dark and stormy night afternoon outside, as anyone in the Gardens probably has picked up by now. Homura certainly picked up on it quickly; the winds alone are just a little reminder of some rather darker days in her past ( Read more... )

[The lobby doors burst open suddenly, and a blur of motion flies through them, settling on the floor Amamiya breathes heavily from the run. Her long blue hair was plastered to her face, her clothing soaked through. She'd been caught outside when the rain hit, and was now dripping water all over the floor.]

[It's not really unexpected for someone to be taking shelter from a storm - but the storm, it's amazing someone could move through it, much less this far after it's started. But then, it wasn't like the girl had just a normal life for a human either, Homura realizes when she recognizes who it is.]

A-Are you alright?

I'm fine. Just a bit wet.

[She doesn't really look fine, and certainly looks more than a 'bit' wet. Every bit of her is drenched, a fact made even worse by the fact that she was wearing a white blouse, which was now clinging to her upper body. She reaches up and actually wring water out of her hair, trying to dry it at least a little.]

Hrm, how tall do you think Sakurako is? Or size in comparison to Homura period? CURIOUSLY heartovertime August 9 2011, 05:49:42 UTC
"A bit wet?" You look soaked...

Do you live in these Apartments too, Amamiya-san? [If not, maybe there's some way she could help the older girl...]

Fairly short, I think, but if Homura is the size I think she is, probably a few inches taller. gentlecuteside August 9 2011, 16:04:05 UTC
I'll dry out. And no, I don't live here, I simply took shelter here when the storm got too strong to travel through.

I pretty much assume Homura is around 157-160 cm / 5'2"-5'3" heartovertime August 9 2011, 21:16:26 UTC
But you'll get sick if you stay like that for too long...

We have a drying machine upstairs... and I'm sure we could find some clothes you could borrow too...

Reply

So probably like 5'6" gentlecuteside August 9 2011, 23:28:04 UTC
I...

[Her initial impulse is to refuse, not wanting to be a burden on anybody else. But she really could use a dry change of clothes. Or at the very least, somewhere private to wait while her clothes dry out. And she does know this girl, a little.]

...thank you. I would appreciate that.

That's pretty tall for girls in Japan, actually! 5'2" is about the average for grown women there heartovertime August 10 2011, 00:40:56 UTC
[Homura smiles ever so lightly.] It's no trouble at all...we're just upstairs over this way.

[Making sure she has all of her things, Homura starts to lead, making sure the girl follows her. Thinking over Sakurako's size, Homura tries to think of what she might have that she could wear. They may not be the best fit, but surely she can find something. There's no way Madoka's clothes could fit, but her own might, even if it's a little uncomfortable. If nothing else, there are always bathrobes.]

Oh really? Damn you, statistics! I was figuring Homura to be a bit short though... gentlecuteside August 10 2011, 01:01:29 UTC
[She follows Homura, starting to feel the chill from her wet clothes. Her shoes make quiet squishing sounds with each step, and she leaves a trail of water on the floor.]

I don't think we're the same size, but I'm sure we can work something out.

Homu is second tallest of the megucas. This is based around the idea of Madoka being 4'10" or so. heartovertime August 10 2011, 02:25:41 UTC
[Hearing the squishing sound, Homura contemplates how not to get it all through the apartment, but it shouldn't be a big worry if it's not for long. It could be cleaned up fairly easily while it's fresh.

Maybe she can come back later to help mop the floors down here too. The idea of those birds flying through this weather to clean up like that is not a good one.]

Probably...

We have plenty of towels too... I wonder if anyone else will end up stranded here...

I just think of the Meduca as being tiny tiny things XD gentlecuteside August 10 2011, 02:55:11 UTC
Maybe. I think most people would have already taken shelter, though. I might be one of the last ones left out there.

Homura is the same height as Kazuko more or less. Junko is a fair bit taller though, I think. heartovertime August 10 2011, 03:29:05 UTC
I hope so... I wouldn't want anyone to be out in that...

I suppose there's no helping with weather forecasts in a place like this... [She starts up the stairs, leading the way to her floor.]

Guess it's the art style screwing with me XD gentlecuteside August 10 2011, 04:05:09 UTC
[Amamiya follows her up.]

I don't know...I've been in the Garden as long as anybody else I've encountered here, and I've never seen anything like this. Something must be going on.

Yeah, it could do that. Not quite like Utena or Sailor Moon's designs even if they're the same age. heartovertime August 10 2011, 23:14:33 UTC
...I hope everything will be alright. [There's no stopping a storm though, is there? Unless some malevolent being were bringing it into existence...]

This building has seemed fine, at least... Maybe it's built to withstand this kind of storm.

Being meguca is tinyness... gentlecuteside August 10 2011, 23:55:18 UTC
I hope so. It's really doing a number on most of the other structures.

[Homura is silent to that for a long moment. Maybe there's some way to help out, if some of the other structures fall apart...but she isn't about to go into that storm without a clue of where to go in this weather. With how the paths act, finding one would take some time even in clear weather. Trying it now would be an utter act of foolishness and might make her a liability to others. And she doesn't want to worry Madoka, most of all.]

Hopefully some of the other buildings are okay too...

[She leads the way out of the stairwell and onto her apartment's floor.]
