Homeless Plant

[The emptiness of her temple after the opening ceremony's been getting to her. It's the Temple of Zephyr, and yet it isn't the Temple. There aren't the usual sounds. No priests randomly stumbling into her room in an inebriated state or slipping in to cuddle. No laughter, talking, and other activity. Just quiet emptiness. Those seeds have to be sowed, but someone must tend them after all.

Could you, perhaps, speak more of yourself? Or this Papi.

Myself? Hm... I'm not quite certain where to start.

Oh! But Papi! He is Dr. Isidro Ruiz Lopez; quite famous for being a brilliant biologist and surgeon where I come from. Only... he's been a victim of the sort of small-minded and frightened people we've spoken of. He's been unable to find acceptance in the greater scientific community because his ideas are so far beyond what they feel comfortable with. It's terribly unfair!

Oh dear me! That sounds a most grueling ordeal.

It was terrifying! I can't understand why they would do such a thing to us!

Surely everyone has their reasons, even if those reasons are mistaken. But I suppose you have nothing to even speculate upon.

Nothing whatsoever! I suppose it must be the inevitable consequence of dwelling near the small-minded and the common.

And you know of nothing that might potentially alarm them?

...all I can think is that perhaps someone caught a glimpse of me uncovered... But I'd been there so long, I thought that, even if I were seen distantly, they would be accustomed to my existence.
