And legend goes that if two or more people share this fruit, their destinies become intertwined. Because of this, the paopu fruit is almost sacred on the ( Read more... )

That sounds like a nice tradition. [Though she doesn't put much stock in magical binding fruits.]

It is.

[Sora only believes it because she grew up with it.]

Maybe you should put up a note so people know before they try to eat them.

[INTERESTED] A magical fruit, you say? How does it accomplish its connective powers?

I don't know. It just... Does. Just like how there's magic in our world.

I see... Would it be possible to procure a few specimens for study?

Um. Sure?

[Why would anyone want to do that?]

[she stares up at the trees for a moment; she remembers them, of course. And a little of their significance, but she didn't realize how important it was until now.]

[she approaches Sora and crouches down, hugging her knees.]

Just eating one means you won't ever be apart?

Mm, not like that. It's more... That you're connected. That no matter what, you'll find each other again.

[Patting the ground next to her. Don't just crouch like that!]

[she shifts and plops down next to her friend gratefully. Being close to Sora always makes her feel oddly excited, but she tries to push away that flutter in her stomach and consider what she's being told.]

Like the charms...that Aqua made for us. [she suddenly wishes she had it with her, instead of leaving it on the shelf in her room.] They're shaped like stars, too.

Did you eat one with Riku and Kairi, then?

[it seems like a logical conclusion to her: best friends must want to stick together.]

Yeah. Like those.

[And then Sora goes bright red and shakes her head while waving her arms.]

No, no, no! We didn't share one! I don't think, anyway. It's not a friends thing! It's for... well, couples.

The magic of this place sometimes changes the things we try to create here, so I would be careful.

Such a thing, even if it does work as intended, could be abused.

[She studies the fruit. She will be certain not to eat one.]

Yeah. I'd just be careful with these. They may work like the paopu from my home, or they may not.

I will not be eating one. [She sounds very sure of that.]

I am concerned that people might consume them without being aware of what they are, as the transmission of information cannot always be relied on here, and it is possible that not everyone will receive your message, new arrivals aside.

Perhaps you should put up a notice.

...Yeah, I'll probably do that.

[She'll need to make a sign post.]
