I hope your uncle heals up ok! My Dad still drives but not often and he's 81. Usually my Mom is with him though. He still drives ok. If you can't see though you shouldn't be behind the wheel. Sheesh!

Thank you! I totally agree. Some people in their 80s still can see great and drive well. I see some 100 year olds in my line of work getting around great so I know it's all relative. I just can't believe she would drive if she admitted she can't see very well. >_<

I wish we had the ability to step outside ourself like others can. Sometimes it would help so much. /

Thank you about my Uncle!

I know. O_O They are so cute, but they leave their poopies everywhere and they might chew through important car wires, lol. So I hate killing them but it must be done.

"It's so hard to live in your own head. It seems everything is so much bigger than it really is."

Amen to that.

As for your uncle, that old lady's behaviour is symptomatic of a morbid obsession with independence, possibly coupled with a certain amount of senility; on the other hand, many people who, in the past, would have been cared for by and living among their relatives are now forced to fend for themselves.

True, true. We used to take care of the older generation. We've gotten so far away from that unlike some of the cultures in Asia.

Wish we had checks on our brains to warn us when we're getting too far out there.

OMG I hope your Uncle recovers!! That lady should not be driving at all!! Are the Police aware of the accident? Maybe they could convince her to hang up her car keys or get a driver!!!!

They are definitely aware. There is going to be major insurance coverage going on here! And she definitely isn't safe to drive anymore for sure!
