A Villains Comeuppance

This just a little reflection about Jadis and current events in the wake, and I'm putting in the cur because it is well on the way toward becoming an essay.

In general...when you meet anything that is going to be human but isn't yet,
or used to be human to beware of people who say they are human,
or they are going to be human or used to be human once but isn't now,
or who ought to be human, and isn't,
you keep your eyes on it...

Make your choice, adventurous Stranger;
Strike the bell and bide the danger,
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
What would have followed if you had.
