I feel your pain, as my brother has a dog that is very similar. Unfortunately, if it is the same as my brother's dog, it's because they're bored and don't get enough exercise and/or interaction. We have a large backyard that he runs around like a maniac in and yet he is still not stimulated enough. I think he needed some serious hardcore obedience classes and to get out A LOT more which my brother is unwilling to do. I yell SHUT UP at him a lot which I don't usually do.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I've tried running around with her but she chews on me. I hate yelling at her, I just don't know what the fuck else to do :///

Is the dog "dog aggressive"? I might suggest taking it to a dog park, if you have those. Although, considering you're only housesitting, it's a lot of work to put into fixing a dog that is not yours AND might not get similar treatment when the owners return.

I would, but it's been dumping snow these last couple days and her coat is so thin she doesn't like to be outside long. SIGH. Thanks for the suggestion though! I think I finally figured out a game we can play without her chewing on me--tug of war with her leash! So fingers crossed this tires her out some!

I am a dog trainer, and this kind of stuff is soooo common. I don't understand why people refuse to train their dogs - it makes your life so much easier! This is how I stay in business, though. ;)

But yeah, rrrrrrghhh. My dogs are no saints, but we don't let them get away with half the shit these dogs pull on a daily basis.
