I wasn't going to read it at first, because I didn't want to be spoiled for the movie. But I found myself clicking on the link, reading the summary, then reading the first paragraph... when I realised that the the fic was outside the events of the movie, I settled in quite happily to read the rest of it.

I love how the author had the way they spoke nailed down. Did they talk like that in the movie? It's such a "boys old club" way of talking, but that was the slang at the time!

Yes it...did. Hiddles and Cumberbatch were fairly minor characters in the movie, actually--the horse was the main character. But this fic did really well with integrating film and fiction

And yeah, the author had their voices TOTALLY perfect, just like the movie--especially Hiddles', i feel like his voice just jumped off the screen. :DD
