Guys, all these Lit classes I'm taking are making me wish so hard that there was a Fanfiction-as-Literature class.

We'd read fandom classics all semester and talk about our favorite passages and common themes/kinks.

Anyone who judged for started wank would recieve an immediate F.

Part of the assigned homework would be to read a pairing you don't ship ( Read more... )

do want do want

I'd want to take that class, but I can't write long fanfic. :/

1k is not long! But if fanfic REALLY isn't your thing, as teacher (aka 'mod') of this class I would allow a collection of fanmixes ;DD

SWEET.

No, but seriously, I have written ONE fic that was above 1K in my life, and I've never really been able to work up the energy to get back to even that, hahaha. Even my meta usually manages to keep itself below 800 words. FANMIX IS THE ONLY WAY. For my final project, I could spend a whole class period DJing Sherlock feels.

To make it difficult, the assignment would be divided into groups like--John feels, Sherlock feels, Mrs Hudson feels, Lestrade feels, and to show a true mastery of the subject, Anderson feels. ;D

This would be the greatest Lit class to exist ever.

This would be the greatest class ever. Love love love this idea. Probably especially because my lit class is forcing me to read Huck Finn and this is like the 5th time I've read it for school, so I'm getting really tired of the repetition and unimaginative professors.

Seriously, I would sign up for this class so fast. Even if that meant I had to explain to everyone else exactly what fanfiction ~is.~

Auuuuugh Huck Finn. I have to read Great Gatsby again for American Lit. I'm just thankful no one's making me read Frankenstein FOR THE 4TH TIME IN AS MANY YEARS, I would have to cut a bitch.

It would be a sort of fanfiction club. First rule of fanfic club, you don't have to talk about it with people you don't want to~~~

Seriously though, I hope this exists somewhere soon, even under like, the guise of a creative writing/literature combo or something. And you could probably incept unsuspecting people into fandom that way. I mean, if there are college classes about Twilight and Beyonce...

I WOULD ACE THE FUCK OUT OF THAT CLASS, TOO. WHY CAN'T THIS BE REAL.

...MAYBE ONE DAY IN THE FUTURE WHEN WE'RE ALL BIG IMPORTANT PROFESSORS WE COULD MAKE THAT HAPPEN. *wistful sigh*

I WISH I LIVED IN A PLACE THAT HAD A GOOD POPULATION OF FANGIRLS. THEN WE COULD JUST CALL IT A BOOK CLUB AND BE DONE WITH IT.

The way fanfic is going public, this will happen one day. And I will sign up for it, I don't care if I'm 95 at the time.

I'll be right there with you in class, bb. We can pass notes and throw paper airplanes at the twihards.
