Yay, congratulations! Excellent making-do skills. And your pies look delicious. Om nom nom.

And even though you haven't asked for it, here is my Thanksgiving story!

This year (I'm Canadian, so we've already had Thanksgiving), my family ended up at my brother's place for reasons which don't need exploring at this juncture. My mom brought all the necessary equipment with her on the (accurate) assumption that two young guys don't have a lot in their kitchen. Except she omitted an electric mixer (or a whisk) so we were stuck having to whip cream with a fork. The boys gave up on that pretty quick, and instead duct taped the fork into their electric drill, Red Green-style. Which worked. Thus saving the day pie. Huzzah!

AKSDLAKSD YES! RED GREEN-STYLE! Oh man, if only i had an electric drill, a fork of my own, and the ingredients for whipped cream...they call it 'squirty cream' here, which just. I don't know how i feel about that, besides slightly skeeved out.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING BACK! It's early for me and late for you, but well meant nonetheless--why is Canadian Thanksgiving early? Or are we Americans doing it wrong?

Squirty cream does ... not sound appetizing. o.O

I have no idea why the dates are so different! Maybe it's because we're further north so the harvest is theoretically earlier? IDK, that's just me talking out of my ass. XD

Thanks so much for making me laff as always - my favourite bit is where you've done all kinds of calculations and notes and then guessed anyway. That's me all over.

LOL *strikes a pose* I had it all ~under control~...or maybe not, but i did make it work! A bowl is a bowl is a bowl is a pot, or something, idk.

And yeah, the calculations were basically to give me a rough estimation--like, i have NO IDEA how much 6 oz of sugar is, but if you tell me it's about one third of my bag? That i can do. ;DD
