[As the video feed starts up, a woman can be seen scrubbing her hands with her own wet coat, in fact, she's soaking wet from head to toe.  At least the rain helped to wash away some of the blood on her clothing.  Sticking out of her pocket is a knife, a sawed-off shotgun lying by her side.

[ ... That voice. Even before anything else is said, Ange instantly recognizes that voice, and for a slight moment she's afraid she's just mistaking someone else for it. But when she sees the video feed too, she knows she wasn't wrong. Her breath sticks in the back of her throat for a moment as she hurriedly turns on the communicator, not even bothering to pay attention to details she perhaps should pay attention to, like the wet clothing and the knife. ]

Mom--..! [ In her hurry, she's even forgetting about the twelve year time difference, or maybe even the fact that she should be providing some sort of explanation for this place. ]

...Pardon...? I think you're mistaken...

[Or that's what she thinks until she takes a closer look at the screen. Quickly realizing that although the other woman is just that, a woman and not a girl as her daughter should be, she couldn't be anyone else; though her face is more mature, she does look just the same]

[ Now it seems to dawn upon her that she should take the time difference into account. And so she looks maybe slightly more awkward as she nods. ]

... Yes, it's me. Ange. .. From 1998. [ She adds the last part quickly, as if it should explain at least something. ] It's all a little strange at first, but there's an explanation for it. Even if it's sort of ridiculous.

[Pauses, considering the plausibility of that claim and of how it might occur. Ultimately reaching the conclusion of 'there's no reason to lie and she certainly looks the part'. There's certainly no witch or demon trying to trick her, at least.

Witches are silly. Fairies are too, for that matter. Magic is silly. No such thing :I]

There's just no way to get out. Any normal means of transportation don't work - teleportation, hearth stones...and going too far into the woods is dangerous.
