I had this whole defensive rant about Glee that I was about to post, but I went back and rewatched part of last night's episode, and understood better what they were trying to accomplish. But I do have this to say:

Not gonna lie, I didn't put as much thought into it as you did, but you make an excellent point.
I was just pissed that they didn't even consider doing the song as a duet, since, you know, it's originally a duet.
