I really liked this one, too! Because of the same reasons you said, mainly that it was a good ol' monster hunt. That whole beginning "Then" recap made me long for seasons one and two because I miss the MOTW eps. The humor was great. I'm glad this wasn't a really heavy episode coming right off of Fan Fiction. Somehow I saw all of the Clue weapons but missed the actual game box in the attic. LOL!
OMG, you picked up on the music, too?? I was going "this sounds just like Sherlock"!
The end with Dean losing it was a good transition from two lighter episodes into a more serious one next week.
I missed the game box, too! Didn't even know there was one until I read your reply. That is too funny that we caught the subtleties but missed the obvious :D
Dang! Sorry to hear about your back! Having experienced myself I know it's no fun. Muscle relaxants helped for me. *hugs and hope you feel better soon!* I really, really liked this ep! The cute music when Dean was out searching and all the 'clues' were just great, and I do love me a good MOTW. Also nice how they added in that little bit of worry that something about Dean is still off what with his, literal, overkill and flimsy denial to Sam that anything was wrong. My only quibbles are the shifter calling Dean stupid, and how on earth could professional hunters have mistaken stainless steel for silver?! And wouldn't they carry some on them regularly (like in a ring, for instance) anyway, just in case? Sheesh!
I think they didn't bother checking for silver cuz they figured these people are rich, so of course the silverware is real silver. And the dumb Dean comment honestly didn't bother me, either; it was just the shifter bragging about being better than the rest of them, including Dean. But that's just my opinion, of course. ::shrugs:: The rest of the ep was just so much fun. I hope they continue to do more old school ones like this :)
