Guys, I love my night class. I still hate that it's a night class, and killing seven hours in Denton waiting around for it is maddening, but omg tonight I took like four and a half pages of straight notes, with no random doodling. About typography. The class is covering the explosion that happened with the invention of movable type, and for some ( Read more... )

See, that's the terrible thing about American history! It's not boring at all, but so many of the people who teach it are. I have had two really atrocious history teachers (coaches! Glad to know I'm not the only one), and two totally awesome ones that made me want to go watch Revolutionary War musicals and write immense papers for recreation. My AP US history teacher made me love history like burning.

I am glad to hear you're enjoying at least one of your classes, though.

Man, coaches taught all the classes like that in high school. History, geography, government... It kind of felt like the school didn't care that we learned those things enough to not recycle faculty. I don't know. I kind of did find American history boring back when I had to take classes, but I might have been much shallower back then. It didn't have anything on the dullness that was Texas history, though...I kind of always wondered, do people in other states have to take classes like that, or is Texas just being self-absorbed again?

It's actually really weird. Buuut I'm still afraid I'll fail due to being bad at thinking and writing. I've got an assignment to figure out how to do by Thursday, aaand I have no idea how to go about doing it. :D
