While I was waiting for the chefs at the cafeteria to make my favorite breakfast of croissant-with-cheese-egg-and-bacon-that-takes-forever-but-is-always-worthwhile I noticed that the basket of fortune cookies was still sitting out from last night at the whatever-foriegn-food place. Life is supposed to be a learning experience.

Well, this week I learned that if I pull two all-nighters in the same week regardless of whether I'm physically ill my body decides to start sending thick mucous into my lungs to the point that I develop a distractingly prominent cough that doesn't go away for over a long time.

Good times.

It occurs to me that my journal entries tend to be so gloomy because when I'm not deserted I have little desire to post in here. So I'm writing this entry quite deliberately ( Read more... )

The other night I found an excellent Castlevania site, The Castlevania Dungeon, which hosts just about any Castlevania media you could ask for. So I downloaded a ROM of Akumajo Densetsu - the Japanese version of Castlevania III to see what the differences were. An interesting fact:

In Japan there is no equivalent to the name Castlevania. Instead, the series is known by the titles Vampire Killer and Akumajo Dracula, translating to Dracula Demon Castle.

This week I am attempting to unlock the fifth cup in F-Zero GX. Such requires ranking first in Master Class on each of the four other cups. This of course is no simple feat: Master Class means you must risk your life by boosting constantly while racing, and for all five tracks in a cup you are only given one retry ( Read more... )
