[ Rhodey's on his couch. There's a mess of wires in the background, but Rhodey seems perfectly relaxed. There's a cat on his lap, barely more than a kitten, really, and he's petting it, running his hands over her fur in slow, regular motions. Always wanted a cat. Guess for all that dimensional kidnapping sucks, at least now I'm in one place enough

[ Huh, that was on? Well, he can roll with that. ] She is, isn't she?

I love cats, I have one, Mr. Darcy, don't laugh. What's her name?

She doesn't really have a name yet. I'm still thinking on that.

You weren't that big a fan of your microwave, right?

[ Here is your best friend leaning against the door frame, wires poking out of his jean pocket. He smiles at the cat, then lifts his eyebrows up at Rhodey. ] Name her yet?

Depends. Are you building me something better? [ Smiling back easily, even if Tony's wasn't directed at him. ] I haven't come up with something good enough yet.

Maybe. No peeking, it's a surprise.

[ Wiping his hands against his shirt before folding them over his chest. ] She's cute. I can't keep calling her Purromer, Dark Ruler of All behind your back though. She's going to get ideas.

Yeah, all right. So long as the fridge stays functional. [ Boundaries. Clearly important when dealing with Tony. ] She's a cat. Pretty sure she'll consider herself Dark Ruler of All with or without you giving her ideas.

[ Ella picks that moment to yap at the kitten on the screen, wet nose sniffing at the screen on arm of the chair where it sits, as if she can get to it that way. If it weren't for this, Steve might switch it off, pretend he saw nothing. But he's not a coward, and he knows he deserves whatever comes. ]

You, uh - your whatsit is on. [ There's a pause before he adds pathetically. ] Cute kitten.

Yeah, I got that. [ Cool, but not downright hostile. He's not going to start something. ]

You settling into the new place okay? [ Because that's the question he really wants to ask. ]

It's fine. [ You'll have to try harder than that, Rogers. ] Nothing against your couch, but having my own place is better.

[ Arthur watches with a smile, secretly an animal lover, and the kitten is adorable. He doesn't really know anyone here yet outside of people from back home, so why not say hi. ]

You'll be pushing catnip on it next.

Could happen, yeah. [ Scritching the cat's head. He's seen Arthur's first network post, so the next question seems safe enough: ] You new here?

[ His gaze is still trained on the small ball of fluff. ] Yeah, I've been here around a week. Have you been here long?

'bout a month longer than you, I'd say. [ Noticing the gaze and lifting her up a little so she's in the center of the screen, nestled against his chest rather than in his lap. ]
