I turned on my laptop this morning, went to go talk to someone, came back, and smelled BURNING. The computer appears fine, except that the fan makes quite a racket, and whenever it's on for more than 5 minutes you can smell burning and see soot accumulating in the corner of the screen. I had problems with my computer's fan, it became really, REALLY, noisy. I simply opened my computer and blew through an empty pen to clean it. There were so much hairs (mostly dog's hairs). Ideally, you better use something dryer than your own breath though...

By the way, nice to see you had a nice trip at the con. I'd love to meet Kyell, Screwbald and many others like you did!

I've done something like that before. Unfortunately this case turned out more serious. =(

And hey, if you really want to I bet you will find your way to a con at some point. I don't think many of the big names are planning on retiring anytime soon. It would be nice to see you around.

There's no real chance you see me at a west coast con, since I'm from eastern Canada! There ain't much cons here... There used to be a really small one in Montreal I think, and there's Camp Feral in Ontario.

Well, traveling can be fun. Maybe you aren't in the position to do so right now, but that may change. In any case, I wasn't particularly thinking "west coast con" (although CA and TX are the only regular destinations for me). I have open invitations to visit Boston, New York, D.C... Maybe interesting people will come closer to you.
