I've been watching a lot of kid's movies lately, and this one did a beautiful job of capturing adorable and a sort of fun-and-games atmosphere with a lot of real human conflict and emotion.

Finally got a chance to see Under the Red Hood tonight (which I streamed with the ever-lovely ladyrandomness and our combined fangirling was pretty impressive). It was a really fun, very snarky movie that also made some really wonderful statements about judgementalism and how vicious slut-shaming really becomes (not to mention, how shallow high schoolers can be). I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I saw an ad for the DVD release of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes movie, which always struck me as really stupid, but I saw something I didn't see before and I have one response:

I am I the only one who is terrified that Guillermo Del Toro is making an actual, hardcore, horror movie? It's called "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" and this is the trailer:

His non-horror movies scare me enough (Pan's Labyrinth, not so much Hellboy).

That being said, it's probably going to be an AWESOME horror movie.

Movie reviewers really should keep their commentary to the objective. I've never seen one that didn't come across to me as incredibly arrogant and condescending by treating their opinions as fact.
