Apparently Girl Gamers is no more

I just found out the girl_gamers  community is no more. Granted, I haven't hung around there for a while...but it was such a mutherfucking awesome place. It will be missed.

And apparently it shut down because of some really stupid wank. Like, unbelievably so.

Jesus, the things people will say on the internet. It's like the perfect forum for pathological liars

Awww..I never heard of that community, but I wish I knew what went down exactly ;~; All I can imagine is either 1) huge cat fight or 2) guys came in and ruined it OTL

It's strongly in the direction of the first one.

Basically what happened was this- the mod made a post on an entry and made a joke about "asking someone if they had a vagina". Someone claiming to be transgendered became very offended

You're absolutely right, it could have been easily avoided...it's a shame about what happened. I'm sure there are other girl-gamer comms, (or you could make your own) but it's sad to see something that was once a cool place to be go like that :(
