Woah! That was awesome! My favorite line has to be:
The fear of what would happen if they were caught should have deterred them. Instead, it made his blood pulse hotter and heavier through his body and encouraged him to thread his fingers back through her hair.
*fans self* There are few words to describe how HOT those two sentences are.
Time for my installments. I wrote two, just because yours was long, and I had two ideas.
I love that comparison! I have (for a while now) been making parallels between Bleach characters and characters from medieval literature (and Nicole Galland's historical fiction). I would totally agree that Soi Fon is one of the noble "knight" characters, especially with her devotion to the law and Yoruichi. Although until now she never occurred to me as much as Ichigo.
There are SO many points to that statement, but probably the biggest thing is that he is an extremely NOBLE character who is manipulated by a fool, or character of questionable motives, IE Kisuke. I've always looked at Kisuke's character as one who does conniving things for the heroes so they won't have to compromise their morals. Which was another important quality of the Fool character.
I have spent SO much time thinking on this topic, actually. I think I could write a valid English essay about it.
And to bring up another hallmark of the fool...Kisuke has a funny hat.
This concept could make an interesting fic, you think?
Orihime was an excellent, if nontraditional, nurse.
Ishida wished she'd let him alone to wallow.
But no, she'd insisted on coming over before school and making him tea and letting him know that there was chicken-leek soap in the fridge whenever he was hungry and did Ishida-kun have enough tissues? And cough drops? And orange-pinapple juice?
And then after school let out she was back, laying cool, wet washclothes across his forehead and threading her oh, so deliciously chilly fingers between his.
He mumbled something about if he was actually sick his father would be here, no need to put herself out, and Orihime just hummed a little ditty and Ishida almost broke, almost told her that she should leave, she was getting his hopes up, that when she was sitting by his bedside he could delude himself into thinking that she cared about him, really, really cared, the way he cared for her.
But he wasn't quite feverish enough to do something so stupid.
