Okay, I admit I am all for bending canon a little now and then to make your story do what you want it to...hell, Moffat and Gatiss do that crap left right and centre, and they WROTE the fucking thing.

The casual slash in the books adds greatly to the landscape of my happy place, yesindeedy.

As for the show, though, and the fanfic spawned from it...a little internal logic/consistency isn't too much to ask for, is it? Is it?? *pleading face*

Possibly we've hit on a solution for some of the romance novel excesses: instead of declarations of undying love, filthy, filthy innuendo.

Really, the amount of time they spend ejaculating at each other in the books is quite astonishing.
