Wishful thinking: final A2a scene?

I've mentioned my perfect ending before in comments to other posts, but here it is again for the record:

Wonder if they'll ever know...they're in the best-selling show? )

spec, ashes to ashes, theories

Thought you might get a giggle out of something I wrote in an email to a friend this week. I seem to write a lot of silly stuff like this in emails--"Melody" has a much more...er...interesting life than I do ( ... )

Awww, I like Keats! I know I'm probably not supposed to, but Daniel Mays is far too brilliant an actor for me to hate anyone he plays.

How about this: they tie him up (in a not-at-all arousing way, oh heavens no) and make him watch them snog. The End. :)

I don't like Keats, but I'm in awe of Daniel Mays. From all the interviews and stuff, he seems like such a nice guy, but he can portray such a creepy demon character so brilliantly! I need to see him in something else so I can appreciate him and like him.

Bought an extra box of tissues at Walmart last night, just in case I might possibly perhaps maybe feel the slightest urge to cry later tonight...

I don't want to think too much about my ideal ending because I won't get it! But the "Danny Boy" lyrics made me think of Sam lingering pensively at Gene's gravesite, not Alex, although of course I'd prefer for Sam and Gene to wind up in the same place in the end. And it would be nice for Alex to somehow be able to go back to her daughter and all. So...yeah, I could see that happening.

Just please don't let them all be fucking astronauts or anything TOTALLY OUT OF LEFT FIELD and I'll be okay, I think.

For me, it was always and will forever be all about the Sam/Gene. But Simm was the one who wanted to leave LoM, and A2a became its own show in its own right...I guess what I'm hoping for now is an ending that brings closure to them both, with love and respect for all the characters involved.

Btw, FWIW, the writers have both said that they wanted the ending to be guessable, and "fair" - that you could put the pieces together from what you'd been given - and that a left-field ending would be an enormous cheat (I agree). So I have faith, for now.

And ever since the Danny Boy episode, I've been hearing Gene sing that song in my head with the words "Sammy Boy" instead. :)
