It's certainly not on anybody's "Top 10 Best of All Time" list, but I swear this sweet, silly movie never gets old.

I'm not a Tom Cruise fan.
I've never liked his smirking, smug personna.
When I list the actors I like, he's never on the list.

But damn it -- when I go to his movies I end up impressed.
(Please note: I haven't seen any of the Mission Impossible series.)

I really wanted to like this movie, which was directed by Baz Luhrman and stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, and David Wenham -- all actors I enjoy watching. Wolfing and I watched Mystery, Alaska last night, and we both really enjoyed it.

I don't go out of my way to watch "sports films" but this one had a lot of sweet, funny scenes -- and I always enjoy watching Russell Crowe.

For reasons that utterly escape me, Wolfling's junior high drama teacher is introducing students to Shakespeare by having them read Romeo and Juliet and having them watch the Franco Zefferelli movie and West Side Story.

I boggle every time I think about it.
