Uplifting and weird

So, last week I went to the library and decided that I should take some time to read a few books that aren't mandatory. I figured since I had fall break.....just the weekend plus Monday and Tuesday.  That I could use that time to read. So I did. I chose a book called Dewey's Nine Lives . Difference of opinion is fine. :)

Personally, I never read a book that used children's language in that manner so I was pretty happy to find that. Also, his humor makes the story a bit less sad, I think.
I couldn't help but to think of real life cases about similar happenings.

I don't know I like books about fucked up situations, I suppose.

I picked up a copy of Dewey and Room over the summer, actually. I absolutely LOVED Dewey. Quick, cute, uplifting read that was very easy for me to get into (as a fellow cat-addict, of course!). Room, I only read the first few pages. Partially because i didn't have time to finish after Dewey, but also partially because it freaked me out. I liked it, I thought it was interesting, but it gave me a funny "you mitt wanna hold off on reading this one" feeling. Maybe it was because it forced me to come down from my Dewey high, but who knows. I still plan on reading it, though.
