So, last week I went to the library and decided that I should take some time to read a few books that aren't mandatory. I figured since I had fall break.....just the weekend plus Monday and Tuesday. That I could use that time to read. So I did. I chose a book called Dewey's Nine Lives . I had no idea until I started reading it that the book was actually kind of like a sequel and I should have started with the book called Dewey. Anyways, I read it. It's a cat book. And in fact the one that I read shared other stories from fans of the first Dewey book about their cats. I loved it. Most of the cats in the books were abandoned and the owners decided to take care of them. Dewey was actually a small kitten that was shoved into a box drop off at a library. Some of it was sad but mostly it was uplifting which was the kind of book I was looking for.
However, when I was at the library I found a book called, Room. It was so strange and weird I really wanted to read it however I held off until I read the cat book. I don't know why I made myself actually finish a book before starting another especially considering I was cheating on Water for Elephants by reading the cat book. I don't know why I can't finish that book, btw. I really like it. I love the old man telling the story, he's so funny and kind of reminds me of my grandfather. Oh well. Maybe I will finish it......later.
Anyways, I went today and got the book Room. Like I said before it's so strange. I'm trying to read it quickly because I have so many questions. It's sort of a cute book too because it's told from a child's point of view. I love the language it uses, so typical of how a child would speak. I think the author might like writing strange books so I shall have to look into her, Emma Donoghue. If she does she may just become one of my favorite authors and if not at least I will have a new book to love. I was actually creeping on her website for the book and it's really neat. I'm gonna include the link so if you are wondering why the book is so strange and weird you can see why. I can't really explain because I haven't read it all to fully explain and besides who wants me to fully explain? that would spoil the book.
