Well, the answer to that is a yes and no. Nowadays, some clinics that perform ELISA tests don't outright "stamp" a POSITIVE result on their patient's lab test. Most doctors would soften the blow by adding the "false" word in the "positive" result - written or verbal - if only to spare the patient the stress and negative impact the result would most likely bring
