I think the Muji web catalog has nice, cleanly designed beds for sale. I've been thinking of something along those lines for when I get a new bed.

They look pretty cool, but it also looks like in the US they only do delivery of some items i.e. beds, in areas near their stores, which I am not :(

Another stab at sci-fi from The Matrix makers falls short
