And somehow, it got worse. - Common Russian joke about their history

Some things are cliche for a reason.

Is that really a common joke?

I'm pretty sure it is. Russian humor is very sarcastic and morbid and absolutely wonderful.

You will not be disappointed!

Depressed, maybe!

But not disappointed!

Why do they leave all of this good stuff out of the history books man? If there were more content like this in the history books, maybe students would be more interested. >.<

That aside, this is awesome. Not only do you get a good laugh, you also learn something new in the long run. I have never heard of any of these events, until now so yeah...

Why so awesome Poland? <3

I know, that always bothers me! Of course, even the good stuff they DO cover, they first pound out every fiber of entertainment until the story has the consistency of spam, studded with displeasing gritty morsels of names and dates you won't remember.

I know, right? I also hate that when they actually do cover the good stuff, there's only like four to five pages on it max instead of a whole chapter or two on it. >:

In all my time of going to school, I've only had two history teachers that bothered to show us stuff that they wouldn't put in the history books for us to know... I miss those classes already.

I find it particularly frustrating whenever I remember that, over the course of my K-12 schooling, American colonization and Revolution were covered about six times.

I get it! Puritans! Quakers! Georgia was a penal colony! I get it!
