Red's universe and canon split after episode 12. After losing to Misawa, Manjoume's brothers quit paying for his tuition and tell him to come back home. Red's characterization
Red, like lovepimp, is supposed to be Manjoume through a mirror darkly.
As a result, he might seem somewhat OOC.
He still has some of his pride, but it's not what it used to be - because more than his brothers, more than Juudai, more than Saruyama, Red hates himself. -
Permissions meme
Magic/Curses/Spells: Red has experienced none of the weird magic shit he would have as a student at DA, so he doesn't really know, understand or believe in any of it. He has a hard enough time just accepting the duel spirits that follow him around. Needless to say, he has no defense against it.
