OOC: Light my Fire

Dec 29, 2010 11:52

Before life eats my brain again. I know, shameless.

Charlene “Charlie” McGee is the main -sort of- character of Stephen King’s Firestarter, one of the best novels ever, really. Or just anything the man has ever written, actually. But moving on…

She's a walking psychic powerhouse, I kid you not.

Would your character be able to feel her or what she can do in any way? She will probably try to keep it quiet, but won't deny it if she is asked.

Raven would probably get a sense of power? But she'd be more concerned with wanting to know if there was any malevolence behind it.

Charlie is positively terrified by the things she knows she can do, with the added fact she can't help but liking setting things on fire. So there's guilt at play here. It's noted on the book that when her dad tells her to burn the Shop, so they can't hurt others, Charlie moves past not liking her powers, but that doesn't mean she won't judge herself for everything that has happened. So really, it depends on how much is Raven willing to believe her feelings.

But if Raven asks her directly if she is evil or not, she won't get a direct answer. Actually, she might get anything but an answer, because she's not into "that talking about my feelings crap". She might actually ask Raven if she is evil or something.

I do apologize in advance for any pestering Raven is sure to do. She has such a weakness for people with issues. ;)

God, I am drained.

Let's set limits here. Do you want her to be able to pick things? Better leave your characters' heads alone?

Chances of whcky psychic interaction?

The bulk of the actual mind reading will be of the OOC pre-arranged kind, anyway.

Mmm, telepaths.

Lucky for Nico (and his demigod cousins) that half-god thing makes him a wee fortress against mind readers. Though feel free to notice he's a closed book!

Well, she knows that reading minds without asking is 'impolite' -unless it's a survival thing- so she won't try anything funny anyway.

Now, if it comes to that, I'll keep it in mind, since she hasn't met anyone that she couldn't read so far.

Raven: case by case basis -- she's usually shielding, but sometimes she projects.
Leia: very difficult to read -- she's not a trained Jedi yet but she is a latent telepath.
Jessica: we'll go with True Blood canon that telepaths can't read vampires.
Vida: sure
Bel: yes, and he's usually thinking about sex. Or bacon.
Wyatt: no, he's playing the "I'm an angel" card.
