Yet I'm still unreasonably proud of myself.

Baaaasically, I'm being a cheap bastard and having my mom help me with laundry tomorrow. She'll be in town, and she called up and said, "Bea, do you want to go with me to the laundromat?" To which my enthusiastic response was "Yes!"

Interesting comments. You know in all my years of planting tomatoes, I never realized that was what I was feeling, a manly man feeling. Well it could be worse, the snow we now have could turn into an ice-age and we would all be beating our chest just to say warm. Actually I was being a bit silly and playing off of your words.

You are absolutely correct in the fact that manual labor does bring about satisfaction, especially when you get to eat the fruits of your labor! Life is often missed because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. Enjoy life to day and share a smile with a stranger.
