There *is* a main character. Basch is the main character. The problem is during development they wanted someone that the target audience can relate to better, which is why Vaan is there. As for the bad guy, I don't know where you are in the story but there *is* a bad guy.

Why are you sorry? To you FFX is the best. To me XII is. I like the more open game, the character design and the gameplay. I tend to agree on the *easy/hard* part though. It did seem like area "a." was easy and then you move to area "b." and it's like ZOMG L3V3L! (Still it is not as open as XI though. Nothing Final Fantasy has ever been that open.)

I'm sorry that you felt like your time was wasted playing the game, especially since I recommended it so highly. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect in it more than I did FFX. I am replaying XII, I did not replay X.

I think I know who the bad guy probably is, just I haven't seen him do anything downright dastardly yet. Bash is the coolest guy there too so that's a woot factor.

I haven't given up on it yet totally. So far I'm taking a break and seeing what I should do on these walkthroughs. My teeth grind though everytime I go walk around somewhere.

Well all right then! This is why I called you from Best Buy the other day...I seem to recall that even last year you were on the fence with this one. Even $14 is too much to spend for this level of frustration!

On a separate note, this may be the most stylistically sound thing I've ever seen you write. XP GET!

I'll stick to my guns and say if you would ever try it to really get it for the story (Just like any other FF I guess.). It is a very thought up setting but the game is just ridiculously slow to me. Like I said in the post the biggest hangup with me is I have nothing to keep me on the edge of my seat to make me want to kill the big baddy and go further. Whereas FF7, FFX I wanted to see wtf was going on ALL the time.

It's got a real D&D feel to it though lol. Stylistic? =o
