This new case is odd. It seemed pretty straightforward, for a father to pass his inheritance to his daughter, but since his daughter was underage, the rights passed to his second wife after his death until their daughter came of age. I see. This gear... it's definitely a key piece of evidence. But if it's not giving you any leads, perhaps you should consider--why wouldn't Flora want the inheritance?

Well, it looked like her stepmother was living comfortably so I don't think her stepmother would have starved or anything...

Blackmail? ... no, her Stepmother was trying to convince Flora that she didn't need the money, and only accepting it after Flora said it was what she really wanted. Her stepmother wouldn't have been blackmailing her.
