[ Has she mentioned just how much she hates her job? No? Well, she does because everyone's rude in some fashion.

Though, when Luke and Mr. Nigma approaches, she blinks at their odd behavior and wonders if the town's up to something. ]

Mr. Nigma...? What are you two up to?

We're going to see a movie about dogs eating spaghetti!

[And Luke breaks into snickering, as though he just said the wittiest thing ever.]

Like this. See?

[Edward pulls down another piece of licorice from underneath his hat and eats it bit by bit, laughing while he does so.]

Come and join us, Ms. Ethelbert!

[ What... in the world...

She stands there with her mouth agape slightly before shaking her head. ]

I don't think that's the most appropriate thing to do right now. You two need help.

[Unsuspecting, Slugger enters the kitchen just moments after the fumes have cleared. He looks first at Edward who is laughing uncontrollably and then at Luke who is doing much the same.]

...

[You guys are fucking weird. He's just going to try and exit the kitchen just the way he entered before he can be dragged into whatever stupidity this most certainly is.]

S-Slugger, wai-

[Before Luke can get a chance to call out to him, he's breaks out into laughter again.]

D-don't---Don't go, Slugger. Come baahahahahaha!

[Edward appears to be a bit more successful in calling after Slugger, but he bursts into another peal of laughter as well.]

[He pauses, glancing dubiously from one to the other as if trying to decide whether or not he wants to know. Finally, he asks.]

What happened?

[There's nothing like being out on a walk and having the Riddler pass you on the street, laughing like a crazy person, with a kid. If it were anyone else, Barbara wouldn't even think twice about it. But this is the Riddler and all this laughing is kind of weird behavior. The question is, what's going on? Does she approach or just let it go? For now she's just sort of, watching them]

Look, Mr. Nigma! That place over there sells the really big boxes of candy!

[And Luke will be tugging Edward in the direction of one of the shops, heading right toward Barbara.]

I suppose we'll have to pay them a visit, then, won't we?

[He'll allow Luke to drag him towards the shop, brushing past Barbara along the way.] Pardon us.

[Oh yeah, definitely weird. That's nothing like the man who almost ran her over with his car last month. What could he be-alright, no. This is silly. He's buying candy with a kid. Just ignore it and le-oh damn it. Letting this go is apparently not an option]

Nigma. Are you...feeling alright?

Late in the evening hintcoinplz December 12 2011, 23:35:29 UTC
[Later that evening, after all their shenanigans, they're returning home for the night. At this point, the gas still has its hold on them, but at the same time the effects seem to wearing off.

Luke reaches up to open the front door. Normally he'd be worried about returning home this late, but at this point he really didn't care. He was still in good spirits.]

Mr. Nigma, are we going to have to eat dinner? I'm not actually all that hungry.

[Maybe because of all the snacking they did throughout the day that ruined his appetite.]

[Edward's starting to come off the effects of Joker's toxin as well. And though he's no longer laughing to the point of tears, there's still a grin on his face.]

Save some for later, then. There's nothing like a good midnight snack to keep the mind going.

[Such a good influence.]

A midnight snack to keep the mind going, huh? I like the way you think, Mr. Nigma.

[He grins and pushes the door open.]

You know, today was the most fun I've had in a long time.

It was rather fun, wasn't it?

[Bizarre to hear those words pop out of his mouth, especially considering that it's only thanks to the Joker, of all people, that this day's happened to begin with.]

[You know, Pokey usually doesn't mind being an usher at the Cinema. The movies usually suck and the snacks are crap, but hey. Free entertainment and food, either way.

Though this entertainment, is a bit more interesting. And with them making noise in the theater? He takes it upon himself to be as annoying as possible.

Specifically, by shining his stupid fucking flashlight right in their eyes as he comes to check on them as the movie plays.]

Hey. There a problem?

[Ow that kinda hurts.]

N-no problem at all-

[And Luke burst out into giggles again the moment he looks back up at the screen. It's the scene with the two singing Siamese cats.]

[Pfffft look at you, Pokey. Trying to bother them.]

You tell me, Pokey. Is there a problem? Some of us are trying to enjoy the movie, you know.

[And the hypocrite of the year award goes to...]

[Usually? Being talked to like that would kind of piss him off. But hearing you two yell and cackle at the screen? Is just too funny.]

Yes sir, I'm afraid there is. As an employee of this establishment, I have to ask the two of you to shut your yaps.

[Man. He barely got through that with a straight face.]
