The polls opened at 7a; I was there around 7:30a. There was no lot parking, only street parking. I don't think I have to say that it was a pain to find a spot but find a spot I did! I went ahead and did Turbo Tax (Deluxe) and instead of owing $82 like I thought, I am getting back $750 between federal and state. YAY! I am very, very excited because this means that I can move up the date that I get my braces put on. Oh yeah! Oh baby! Uh-huh! Woo-woo!

I normally go to H&R Block because usually I had something extra to consider -- currently in school, freelance work, a deduction from my 401K, etc. But this year, it's just my salary from my full-time job. I plugged the numbers into a 1040-EZ form and it looks like I will owe about $80 or so. Having H&R Block do my taxes will cost me $150ish -- do ( Read more... )
