Kara has learned what we mean when we say "P. W." as a code for something super fun.

(Hint: it rhymes with "puppy chalk" or "puppy stalk")

Crap.

She has also learned the meaning of amble, saunter, and stroll.

I need a thesaurus.

What about the good old "double-u ay el kay." At least until she learns how to spell. :-)

I've always been fond of the Australian phrase "take a wander."

Maybe she's catching on to those words because she really really really really really wants to go for a walk.

I guess you should always take her. :D

That isn't feasible at midnight! She sat in front of the front door whimpering all night once because I mistakenly said a clue word.

She absolutely catches onto those words for exactly that reason. "Poop bag" is also a phrase she recognizes, since we grab a plastic bag to bring with us before we go. We tried initiating walk time without getting them too excited by just saying "go get the poop bag" or something similar to each other, but she caught that too.

Note to self: get a dumb dog, not a smart one!
