I did a Dratini CrossStitch!  Hindsight says I should have moved the characters over a bit, but I was working with a 16ct. pattern on 14ct. fabric and mostly eyeballing it.  Turned out alright, I think.

Metalic Thread is a BITCH to work with, though.

Depends on the thread I think. I don't have much problem with my metallics, but I use Gutterman. If I'm using a thicker thread I'm going to do laid work.

I stick to DMC, easier with the pattern program I use to not have to worry about converting color codes. But you may be right about the thread type. I usually just use metallics for outlining/borders, but I've noticed the black doesn't tangle and split near as much as the silver.
