Defriended, why? (public entry)

We all prune our friends lists from time to time I am sure. That's fine. I'm not offended if someone takes me off theirs. I'd just like them to say something about it, eg "I can't keep up with my friends list and you're boring anyway" or "we have nothing in common" or  even "I just can't stand you" ... but just defriending and saying nothing ... I

It's just annoying, especially when it's someone you like. It's like they're saying you're not cool enough to be in their club or something. I know I am probably just paranoid and/or control freaky!
