After the initial rush of putting together the many pieces that I had already started on, the book proposal has taken a turn towards the slooooooow pace of one grain of sand at a time. But if I want to submit it to my writing group for feedback this month I need to get it together by Thursday

1) Everything at this conference confirms what I have learned by reading agent blogs thoroughly, and for free. But it's nice to know I'm on the right track.
2) 90% of the writing there wasn't good. It was fine, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good. Nice to know the competition is not as strong as I thought.
However, what I did walk away with was six agents who said, "when it's done, send it to me" and that was worth the money.

More and more I am seeing how I could be making a fortune if I were a different sort of person. I don't mean to say it's unscrupulous to take money for a service rendered, but these things set up more for the pros to make money than the attendees to benefit from really stick in my craw.
