While I was away, I took a pile of books I've been saving up reading until we were camping. Unfortunately, once we got there, I realised that all I wanted to do was hole up with Jane Eyre and my Jane Austen Complete Novels, so I brought back a stack of unread books, although I've re-read all my favourites, and discovered the disturbing realisation ( Read more... )

Oh, what lovely, lovely photos. And i have to admit, having never read any Bronte, I have no clue what the problem is with the book. *grin*

I have lots of lovely photos like that from this holiday. There's a reason I wanted to go, lack of internet or not.

As for the Bronte book, let's just say they didn't check who wrote what very well at all!

I did a bit of a double-take when I actually looked at the cover. I still can't quite believe it.

Haha! Actually no, not haha. That's a huge error! I mean, there are people being paid actual money to check these things. Arg!

Fantastic photos, btw.

I liked the photos. It still looks like Jabba to me!

The book error is just... I hope someone got fired over that. I can't believe it, still.

That first picture is absolutely gorgeous. (My lust might relate to the combination of the blue water below and blue sky above and the colour contrast with the brown and yes.)

If those are the low res ones I can't wait to see the high res ones - except for the part where my dial up will hate me.

Question? Why not the Kate Beckinsale version of Emma? Admittedly not as fun as Clueless which I also own - makes me feel both literate and contemporary *G*.

Obviously people who do book covers need betas too. *hmph*

I'm not loading the larger pictures from home -- the camera is 6MP, so they'll still be very much scaled down!! Lots of pictures of the ocean with the blue sky from fantastic views.

I actually haven't seen the Kate Beckinsale version -- worth finding? I can't recall it coming out over here....

The cover still makes me go wide-eyed in disbelief, yes.
