I discovered two new blogs today.

Furman Underground

They're both about what's going on at Furman. The BTV seems less biased and more newsworthy, and the FUG is funnier. I just wasted an hour skimming both of them.

This has nothing to do with your post really, but I find it all interesting as my cousin's a Professor there. I'm tempted to see if she's mentioned.

As for info online... there are definitely things that pass around, for better AND for worse. A gay friend of mine was "outed" by her students because they found her Facebook. Students who weren't exactly happy that a lesbian was teaching them. (Which I think is dumb, but people do judge.) That's why I don't let my networks see anything./i> (And even then... I'm careful on Facebook. It's not private. LJ is private. Facebook isn't.)
