I want to be the change I want to see in the world

I discovered two new blogs today.

The Belltower Voice

Furman Underground

They're both about what's going on at Furman. The BTV seems less biased and more newsworthy, and the FUG is funnier. I just wasted an hour skimming both of them.

I like the idea of blogging about events, ideas, advice, etc. Currently I mostly blog about my personal life, which, granted, is very important to me. My tumblr is pictures, videos, quotes, and short blurbs that may or may not be about my personal life.

I know that what I put online gets out there to some people. Of course, I have my f-list here. I put occasional notes on facebook, that get read by probably more people than I know. Some non-lj people read my public entries here. Three friends read my tumblr. Random people (and some friends) follow my Twitter, although that's just status updates.

I think I have potential of reaching out to people. Of influencing others. And I haven't used it to its fullest extent.

Some of my friends joke that I know everyone. I don't know everyone, but my friends are from all different groups on campus and in different years. I've also had several moments in the last year when I have met someone new who already knew who I was. I thought it was just something that happened as a junior or senior, but when I mentioned this to some of my friends, they all said that it had never happened to them.

Many of my friends joke that I like everyone, which is true. And honestly, everyone's nice to me, and I think most of them are genuine.

So if you take the fact that I have several online outlets for expression + I know people + I like people (and they like me) then what do you get?

I don't know yet. But I think that I could take my circumstances and use them for the better. If you have any suggestions, feel free to pass them on.
