I'm amused by some weird things ... but who wouldn't be amused by this?

My day is complete.

I was browsing Pokemon characters on Bulbapedia for research for a story and I was looking at Lieutenant Surge when I discovered a curious and exceptionally amusing thing, which indirectly led me to realise another curious and exceptionally amusing thing, and then a third thing which isn't curious so much as exceptionally amusing ( Read more... )

Can I try an alternate interpretation?

Anime!Surge is an effeminate flower-child who lives in shame since being demoted to Lieutenant after his answering an invitation to a completely different Major Bob to attend the celebration of his former captain's promotion, leading to his discarding the name in shame after a tragic incident involving a sheet of tinfoil, a garbage can, and an incontinent kitten. Following his brief foray into the world of LSD, he now spends his days sitting in a small room and challenging all who speak to him to best his "ultimate regiment": a beach ball and two rats covered in yellow paint.

...I'm not sure what to say about all that. It's three in the morning. XD

It's certainly making me wonder about his relationship to the Village People. XD

... 'his "ultimate regiment": a beach ball and two rats covered in yellow paint.' *sniggers* I SIMPLY MUST QUOTE THAT SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW.

And I am rather interested in this tragic accident involving tin foil, a garbage can and an incontinent kitten. XDD Do tell. I dare you.

XD Go ahead. My feeble internets need validation.

He, uh... he doesn't like to talk about it. Suffice it to say that he won't be going home to America until the Humane Society drops those clearly fabricated charges for that incident that absolutely did not happen. >>;

Maddie wasn't a woman when she voiced Surge (least not physically)...but then it's not that hard of a voice to do. It's a hard voice to MAINTAIN because it burns like hell (especially with all the shouting), but to get down that low and all weird like that is pretty easy.

Unless I have the vocal cords of a 40 year old man. Which then makes me wonder about my Nurse Joy voice.

It's not so much that I thought the voice would be difficult (though iirc she pulled it off really well) but that I found it exceptionally amusing that a guy as masculine as Surge was voiced by a woman.

I'd accuse you of ruining my fun, but then, I can always argue that if she identified as female at that time he was still voiced by a woman even if her physical gender didn't reflect it. XP

(... although that's still not quite as fun, darnit.)

Haha true.

Solomon Moto, now there's a difficult voice. What the hell.

Solomon Mutou from YuGiOh? *not sure if the diff in spelling is her not getting it right or if there's actual variance*

Otherwise, I have no idea who that is. :P
