I think Dean may have taken care of the hurting-father-Greg bit. But hey, there can never be too many Dean-cuddles, so hop right in there. Sam might growl at you though ;)

You did a really good job on this. The flashbacks balance the shots of the present perfectly, and the last section completely hits where it hurts. Your grasp on Sam was perfect: he's a good person overall, but he's being forced into the role of comforter and he really doesn't know how to take it. He tries, though--that he didn't call Ruby is a clear indication of that.

(One thing, though--in your note at the top, I think that you meant it filled the prompt for "Religion.")

*ahem* yes...ReLigion...I totally didn't post this sleep deprived and slightly drunk.

I love your thoughts on Sammy. They're spot on. He cares and there is so much he wants to do and say to make everything better for Dean, but he has zero experience being on this side of the h/c scenario and all he can do is try and emulate what Dean used to do for him. Which doesn't work for Dean at all.

Ouch. In so many ways. I can totally see Alastair dresses his playthings up as Sam to torture Dean even more too. *shudders*

Yes! It's such a convenient way to torture him. Dress Dean's victims up as Sammy, so he ends up hurting even while he's the one inflicting pain. I think I may be spending too much time trying to figure out what happened in those 40 years...

I'm so glad you liked it! I was a bit worried about this one, because...well...because it's such an awesome concept and I really wanted to do it but at the same time wanted to stay away as far as possible, if that makes sense.

Oh, please do! All of them! I'm writing this on a crappy laptop that a friend built me out of used pits and pieces until I can get a new harddrive for my other one. (Seriously, I'm lethal for technology. If you have a pacer your should probably stay away from me or I'll break it!) Anyway, this thing doesn't have spellcheck and my browser only catches about half of the typos and I'm too stressed out from school to spend too much time proof reading. So uhm, yeah, go ahead and point them out.
